Our client is looking for an
Economist for their home office in Southeast Florida. The purpose of
the job is to lead and conduct economic research products that will
enhance the understanding of factors critical to the Company’s rate
filing responsibilities, including loss costs and return on surplus.
The ideal candidate will coordinate preparation and delivery of
economic data for use by others and present research and otherwise
address various constituents at a variety of industry events.
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Economics and at least 5
years’ experience, or MA/MBA in Economics with at least 10 years’
experience conducting economic research, economic forecasting,
and/or econometrics. Experience working with data from the Workers’
Compensation, Property & Casualty lines and /or Healthcare fields
preferred. This candidate will have strong and authoritative
presentations experience, specifically addressing Economists,
Actuaries and Statisticians. They must have an understanding of
econometrics, economic modeling and forecasting, finance,
microeconomics, macroeconomics, and statistical modeling. They must
have strong presentation skills on trends and forecasts to large
audiences of regulators, insurance executives, government officials
and others (both technical and non-technical). This candidate will
manage projects with significant attention to documentation and
quality assurance.

Sr. Residual Market Financial

Our client, based in Florida, is the largest
provider of Workers’ Compensation insurance and employee injury data and
statistics in the nation. Our client is looking for a Residual Market Financial
Analyst for their home office. This position is responsible for applying
accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare
accurate and timely financial statements, reports and complex analyses.
The ideal candidate will provide extensive expertise and knowledge to Residual
Market Accounting within the Finance Division, the Reserving and Information
Management area of the Actuarial and Economic Services Division, and both the
Residual Market Pool and Plan Administrative areas of the Regulatory Division.
These services include billing, collecting, and settling of balances between the
various pool participants on a quarterly basis, as well as various residual
market plan billings throughout the year.
They will be responsible to assist in the quality review of work performed by
Financial Analysts to ensure accuracy prior to distribution of information for
reporting or invoicing purposes. This candidate will prepare complex
reconciliations and supporting analyses as necessary for the various Residual
Market Reinsurance Pools, including complex calculations to derive incentives
and disincentives to Servicing Carriers.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree with a major or
concentration in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred) plus a minimum of
five years recent financial experience and two years insurance industry
experience, preferably with exposure to workers’ compensation or residual market
operations.
