CAT Modeling Director NY, NY
Our client an A++ rated carrier with domestic and international reach has an opening for a professional to manage a Corporate CAT modeling unit which models our Client’s exposures to: US hurricanes, European windstorms, earthquakes, acts of terrorism, and infectious disease exposures from all relevant lines of business including property, work comp, life, and A&H.

Activities include:
  1. Providing modeling reports for financial statements, rating agency reports, corporate aggregate monitoring, reinsurance placements, underwriting, and senior management requests;
  2. Managing cat modeling staff (4 people currently);
  3. Being the lead liaison with our cat modeling vendors;
  4. Proving modeling assistance and training to profit centers and other areas of the company.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of CAT modeling experience as well as some actuarial experience. This is a Director level position with a salary to match – well into 6 figures.

They are looking for an IT Manager and Systems Administrator who will provide the design, installation, maintenance and project management of all company systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, Installation and Maintenance of the company’s hardware, network and telecommunications systems, including:
Desktops; Firewalls; Laptops; Printers; Phone/Voicemail System; Routers; Servers; and Switches. Also, User Creation and Maintenance, including Domain and Email Accounts.

Design, Installation and Maintenance of the Company’s software applications and systems, using:
Document Management and Imaging System; Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003 Server; Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP Professional; and Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

Design, Installation and Maintenance and Programming of the Company’s applications, databases, reports and websites, using:
Business Object Crystal Reports; Microsoft Access; Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft Visual Basic; Microsoft Visual Web Developer.

Design, Oversight and Project Management of Company’s web portal.

Commercial Lines Manager Miami, FL
For over two decades our Client has been bringing quality service to the Florida market. They are now working on improving and expanding these services by introducing more competitive and valuable products and expansion to other states. Their Commercial Lines Manager has just retired and they are looking to replace him with someone who has not only expertise running a commercial underwriting operation but who has significant Product Development and rate analysis experience; someone who can be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new rates and programs, along with continual review and evaluation of existing rates and programs. The individual will become part of the Management Team and report to the COO.

Duties include:
  • Responsible for the coordination of the operations of the commercial department.
  • Actively participate with the marketing department to achieve production and profitability goals.
  • Help develop strategic plans and budgets for the commercial department in coordination with the other departments and the executives.
  • Review and analyze results of all personal and commercial insurance products.
    Comparison with competitors.
  • Development & preparation of submission of rates, forms and rules proposals.

Position Requirements are as follows:

  • College Degree required.
  • PC proficient, including MS Office products such as Word, Excel, and Access, as well as Crystal Reports, Visio and data mining tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of all Company departments and the Claims process, Insurance operations, and the Underwriting process, end-to-end.
  • Proficient use of comparative rates and competitive analysis.
  • Ability to analyze the policy form and rate structures and suggest appropriate changes to meet growth and profitability objectives.
  • Actuary skills/knowledge required, i.e. pricing products, IBNR, etc.

  • Assist in any existing territory on any major issue or initiative, top- or bottom-line related.
  • This position will be a stepping stone to placement as a Regional Extended Warranty Manager on International assignment.
  • Must be willing to travel internationally at least once a quarter.
  • Must want to eventually work overseas.

Skills/Experience required:
