Resident Commercial Lines Production Underwriter Dallas, TX

Our client is a financially strong National P&C Commercial Insurance Company and is seeking a seasoned professional to join their dynamic team as Commercial Lines Field Production Underwriter. This position is responsible for writing middle market size new accounts in their assigned territory. Other responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong relationships with the agency plant to ensure profitable growth.

An ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven to ten years experience underwriting all commercial lines for more progressively complex accounts within a multi-state territory. Strong computer skills are mandatory. A thorough knowledge of Property is a MUST.  A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A professional insurance designation, (such as a CPCU or ARM), is highly desirable. Work from home 3 days a week and must be willing to travel the entire territory the other 2 days. Must be willing to have at least one overnight per week and sometimes 2 nights.

Due to profitable growth our client is seeking a Senior Commercial Property Underwriting Specialist. The principle accountability is to apply experience and technical underwriting expertise to various assignments to support the company's profit and growth objectives. The complexity of such assignments, coupled with the diversity of clients underwritten by the company, necessitate that the individual collaborate with the Staff Underwriting Managers, members of other Corporate Staff Departments, as well as individuals from Operations to ensure all relevant information is understood to support recommended actions. The ideal candidate will work with the Assistant Vice President, Fire and DIC Underwriting to handle referral requests in support of the Division Underwriting Managers as requested.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors Degree (Advanced Degree preferred) along with a minimum of ten years engineering and underwriting experience, at least three of which are with a major Commercial Property insurer. They will also have knowledge of underwriting practices, trend in the insurance marketplace and competition. This candidate must also have completed their CPCU designation. Relocation assistance is available.

Property Catastrophe Reinsurance Underwriter Sarasota, FL
My client is a Property and Casualty Insurance Group who maintains an ”A” (“Excellent”) Financial Stability Rating from A.M. Best, with equity as of 12/31/05 in excess of $250 Million. They are currently looking for a Property Catastrophe Reinsurance Underwriter for their Sarasota, FL office who will be responsible for various aspects of reinsurance analysis including catastrophe modeling, pricing analysis, assessment of risk transfer mechanisms, and evaluation of investment and reinsurance opportunities.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in finance, economics, mathematics, insurance or related discipline.
  • Two years minimum experience with capital markets, reinsurance and catastrophe modeling and reinsurance pricing analysis.
  • Mastery of database management programs (Access and Excel) including proficiency in Access query building and report writing.
  • Must be proficient in manipulating large amounts of data for statistical reporting.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines efficiently and with high quality.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and must be proficient in PowerPoint skills.
